Our program began when a young lady named Victoria Weslich was crowned Miss Placentia 1934. Since 1964, this program has annually selected a titleholder to represent and serve the local community and in 1976 the program officially aligned with the Miss America Organization. Since that time, our program has awarded over $150,000 in college scholarships to young women pursuing a higher education.
Many of our titleholders have been very successful at the state competition and placed in the top 5. They have earned additional scholarships, awards and special recognitions at the state finals. In fact, our very own Miss Placentia 1996, Stephanie Baldwin was crowned Miss California 2001 and placed in the top 15 at Miss America. Additionally, Placentia's Outstanding Teen 2007, Jordan Krinke, went on to win the title of Miss California's Outstanding Teen that same year.
